God's Fresh Anointing For your New Blessing

You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured on me. Psalm 92:10

In olden days the shepherds poured oil on the head of the sheep to protect it from the lice and ticks. The oil that was smeared and daubed on the head of the sheep made the sheep's wool slippery and made it impossible for the insects to get near the sheep's ear and burrow through them. It prevented the sheep from getting killed. The word 'Anointing' has its origin from this practice of the shepherds. Anointing became a symbolic of blessing, protection and empowerment. The Word of God tells us how the anointing of God blessed the life of a shepherd boy called David.

Anointing brings new beginnings: Prophet Samuel under the leading of God Almighty, visited David's house with the job of anointing the next king. We read in 1 Samuel 16: 10-12 that Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but the Lord did not choose any of them. Samuel didn't walk away, he probed, 'Are all the young men here?'. Jesse had not kept his youngest son in the house when the great prophet was visiting them. He had sent his youngest son David to tend the sheep as usual. Jesse told that his youngest David was out tending the sheep. Samuel told Jesse to send for him. When David arrived the LORD told Samuel, for this is the one'. Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him amid his brothers. The Bible says, 'the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward'. From that instant there was a new beginning in David's life. The anointing oil poured over David's head symbolized outwardly, his elevation for kingship. Inwardly, the Spirit of God blessed David with all that he needed to provide, protect and rule the people of God.

David would have felt disappointed when he was not able to stay with his family, during the visit of a great prophet to his home. His own father had considered him to be of least importance for that gathering, but it was not so with God. A young shepherd boy who had no recognition in his family and in the society, was the one whom God anointed for the highest post of ruling a nation. Today, God's eyes are set on you. Your family might have humiliated you, your friends could have rejected you and you could have felt disgraced, I encourage you with the words of David from Psalm 23:5 'You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows'. You might be surrounded by disappointments and loss, yet the anointing of God assures that the blessings of God will follow you all your life. All your disappointments & loss will flee when this anointing comes on you. Just believe and receive this anointing. God is choosing you, to receive the new anointment of God's breakthrough blessing today.

Anointing brings empowerment: The Holy Spirit came powerfully upon David the shepherd boy when he was anointed by prophet Samuel. The power of God began to move David in a mighty way. When the Philistines gathered forces against the Israelites, a champion named Goliath stood before the Israelite army and threatened the ranks of Israel. For forty days he came forward every day and defied the armies of Israel. Saul and all the Israelites were dismayed, terrified and fled from Goliath in great fear (1Samuel 17). When David heard the words of Goliath and saw how the Israelite army trembled in fear, he immediately questioned, 'Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?' His words caught the king's attention and he was summoned before the king. David declared to the king with boldness and clarity, 'Let no one loose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him' (1 Samuel 17: 32). Can a young teenager talk before a king like this? It was the anointing that was in David that empowered him to speak fearlessly and act boldly. David didn't need the garment of a warrior or the training of a military student. His worldly physique or training or experience didn't matter at all in this combat. It was the presence of the Spirit of God that stirred David to go against the enemy in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel. That day the anointing in David empowered David to triumph over the Philistine with just a sling and stone and prove to the world that it is not with sword or spear that the Lord saves.

Friend, even today it is the same anointing of God that empowers you to fight any enemy that comes against you. People might mock at you, tease you, weigh you down with unwanted issues, don't lose hope. He who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. He will empower you and make you live victoriously. Your enemy could be your jobless situation or your enormous debts or your bad financial status, don't fear or tremble like the Israelite army. The anointing of God will break the yoke and give you freedom over every enemy.

Anointing brings protection:David's success brought jealousy and fear into the heart of king Saul. Saul also saw that the Lord was with David and became more afraid of him. Saul was determined to kill David (1Samuel 19:1). He sent his men to David's house to watch and to kill David (1Samuel 19: 11), but Michal his daughter and wife of David helped him to escape. Saul pursued David several times to kill David, but he was not successful. The enemies of the Israelites such as the Philistines, the Amalekites, also chased and hunted David in order to kill him, but no one could lay their hand on him. David declares in Psalm 92: 11 'My eyes have seen the rout of my adversaries; my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes'. The protection of God was firmly in and around David. He went through a lot of troubles, pain and tears, but the anointing of God that was upon David, foreordained victory and protection for him. The anointing helped David to stay high above the rest always.

Today God has predestined protection for you, in all your tough situations and victory over all your challenges. You could be facing a court case or a property dispute or a huge financial crises & even a prolonged jobless situation, the anointing of God will protect you from all harm and give you the victory.

My dear brothers and sisters, David was anointed by the Spirit of God and was carrying the presence of God in him. But do you know when the turn of events took place? The day when David stood before king Saul and shared his testimony at the right time before the king. Sharing the testimonies of God's victory in our life is very important. Revelation 12: 11 says, 'They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony'. The words of our mouth must be in tune with the anointing of God that we carry. Take hold of the prophetic word mentioned in Psalm 92: 10 'You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured on me' and move in the anointing towards your breakthrough. Every past failure and jobless conditions will move away and new favour of God will surround you with new job openings. Come on rise up your time of breakthrough has come. Surely God will honour you and raise you like David. May God bless you with this new oil & raise you to higher position. Amen.

You are Blessed

God bless you
