Raise Earnest Prayers:

King Harod was bent on persecuting the church. He put to death James the brother of John. He four soldiers to guard the prison where Peter was kept. Peter was bound with two chains between two soldiers. Sentries stood guard at the entrance of the prison where Peter was kept. With such a tight patrolling and a public trial awaiting him the next day Peter was not even a bit troubled. He slept without any fear between the two soldiers. At this juncture an angel of God appeared in the prison, woke Peter up and led him out of the prison. The iron gates that were shut opened by itself as the angel led Peter into freedom. How could Peter who was sleeping without any concern be delivered out of that prison. Acts 12: 3 says „…the church was earnestly praying to God for Peter‟. The earnest and intense prayer moved God and caused the shut iron doors to open. Our God is a prayer answering God. Elijah prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed and the heavens gave rain (James 5:17, 18). Prayers have the power to shut the doors or open the doors of heaven. Your prayer life has the power to open the shut doors or the shut avenues in your life. How is your prayer life? Has disappointments taken the joy and desire in your prayer life? Has laziness or busy life robbed of your time of intimacy with your Creator? Cheer up my friend and rise up in your prayer life. David said with confidence “I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (Psalm 27: 15). So will you. God will hear your earnest prayers and grant special favor upon you.

Have Diligent Obedience:

Jericho was a mighty city that was shut because of the Israelites. The great wall of Jericho prevented the Israelites from taking victory over that city. God gave them a strategy to capture the city and be victorious. Was it a war tactic? It was a tactic without weapons. It was a plan of praise. God told them to march around the city once every day with seven priests carrying the trumpets ahead of the ark of the Lord‟s covenant. The armed guards were told to march ahead of the priests who blew the trumpets and the rear guard to follow the ark. On the seventh day they had to march around the city seven times, except that on the seventh time when the blast of the trumpet was heard all the people had to give a loud shout and then the wall would collapse. When Joshua told the plan that God gave him, every Israelite diligently followed it. Diligence in following God‟s instruction brought the mighty wall of Jericho tumbling down. How would have this plan sounded for a military attack? Definitely silly. God Almighty always uses very simple and foolish things to bring about mighty victories and monumental miracles, provided there is diligent obedience from his children. Well how does God instruct his children today? God instructs you as you read and meditate His Word. The Spirit of God conveys it through visions and dreams. He even gives you very specific instructions through his prophets when they pray for you or counsel you. Hearing instructions is not the solution; following it very diligently is the key. God delights in your implicit obedience to his instructions and enables you to step into a blessed future.
